General Information for Exhibit & Sales Gallery Submission
The Starkweather Art Center seeks innovative work in any medium by artists 18 and older. All work must must meet the criteria established by Starkweather and or any jurying body employed by Starkweather. The Exhibition Galleries: Gallery Built in 1865, the Starkweather Art Center, a non-profit art center, located at 219 N. Main Street in the Village of Romeo, Michigan, features two main exhibition galleries: The Ford Gallery and the Starkweather Gallery. Each gallery features thirteen foot ceilings, 100 year-old wood plank floors and front display windows. The walls are white with dark green ceilings. The two galleries offer approximately 1,200 square feet of combined exhibition space. The gallery walls will accommodate large works of art, or 30 to 40 smaller paintings. | The Sales & Gift Gallery: Situated off the two main galleries is the Sales and Gift Gallery offering display space for smaller items such as jewelry, glass, smaller works of pottery, note cards, etc. Sales & Gift Gallery Submission Requirements: - Five slide or photos - All other requirements are the same as the above Exhibit Submission Requirements. Sales & Gift gallery submissions are juried once per quarter. Notification will be provided no later than the end of the quarter in which submission was made. Declined slides will be returned only if accompanied with a self addressed stamped envelope with appropriate postage. The Gallery retains a 40% commission on all sales; payments to artists are made within two weeks following exhibition. Sales & Gift Gallery artists are paid within two weeks following the end of the calendar quarter. Artists who volunteer to work in the art center two full days per month, 6 days per quarter, receive 10% off their commission for the quarter in which they work. Annual Holiday Show The Starkweather Art Center cordially invites you to participate in its 5th annual juried Holiday Art Extravaganza November 9 through December 22. The Holiday Art Extravaganza is a juried exhibit. The deadline for entries is September 15, 2004. The jury/registration fee is $25 and must be received, with the completed registration form.
