February marks our annual Member's Show where all of our active members are allowed to enter up to 3 pieces of artwork for display.

Not only are our professional and experienced artists gracing our walls, but also our young, hobby and emerging adult artists.

New Classical Expressions: Joseph Lucido and Christopher Marshall

April/May 2015


Early Spring at Starkweather Galleries looked a bit like the DIA with classical painters Lucido and Marshall.  Stunning oils in landscape, still life and portraits were lighting up the gallery walls.

We were very happy to host the Kasperek Family in July.

James has won numerous awards at Starkweather for his pastels.  Wife Sheri is also a talented painter, and we were able to intoduce their daughter Mia who is a budding photographer.

Our annual fundraiser helped us raise money for our Building Preservation Fund, and we will be getting a badly needed new roof soon! 

Many thanks to James Kasperek who donated an original painting to use for our advertising and which we also raffled off at the event!  Jazz singer Sheila Landis was phenomenal, as usual.

Blues is a Feeling

Blues Photographer Don McGhee displayed his photos of locally and nationally known Blues performers.  This highlighted our weekly Blues Concerts in August. What a great month August was for music lovers!

Thumb Area Artist Exhibition

The annual Romeo Guild of Art "Thumb Show" highlights local professional artists from 9 counties.  This juried show is always a treat.

The DAW members operate out of The Pontiac Creative Art Center and welcome new members.  They offer fee bases classes and mentoring.
